Es
muy satisfactorio que existan artistas como Frank Kortan los cuales
han probado del elixir del emperador Rudolf II., para demostrar
a los contemporáneos en el recuerdo del arte noble del manierismo
la maestría que parecía perdida y la cual es necesaria
para crear de manera maestra cuadros exquisito. Es de esperar que
sus obras abran los ojos a todos aquellos que se volvieron ciegos
por el arte inexpresivo para habilitarlos nuevamente en la percepción
de un idioma figurado. |

En nuestros días neblados, en los cuales por deber han salido de los Bellos Artes la
Belleza y el Arte mismo, aún existen algunos artistas como Frank Kortan cuales pintan
con coraje y divina terquedad en su estilo propio, mas en el espíritu y con el conocimiento
de los viejos maestros. La pintura, cual Frank en su maestría incomparable ha hecho de
mi para mí, es la mejor que he visto de mi mismo, inclusive aquellas cuales pude contemplar
en el espejo de mi baño. Muchas veces he hablado conmigo mismo, pero nunca había
enmudecido así. La pintura lo dice todo. El pintor me ha reconocido. No hay complimento
más grande. |

What is art?
I think art is an experiment as well, whether it is theater, circus or painting.
I have had many artist friends throughout my whole life, including painters of different styles of art.
Some include portraitists, landscape painters, abstract painters and many others. One day I was asked to
open an exhibition of the artist Frank Kortan, a painter of Surrealism and Fantastic Realism. This was the
first time for me that I came closer into contact with this style and I must say since that time,
I am fascinated by Franks art. "Like a jeweler" he is carefully working out every detail. His subjects are highly
diverse, always interesting and imaginative. I wish Frank continued success and much pleasure at his work.
